US Open Final 2008

Last night I watched US open final. It was at 2:30 AM in night and it finished around 4:30 AM. I must say it was worth watching till that time. The only reason why I wanted to watch the final is Roger Federer.

This guy really has something in him. In the year 2008, he has reached in three finals and one semi-final, but, still people writing him off. So I wanted to see how Federer performs in the final against the 6th seed Murray. It would have been a ideal final if Nadal had been there.

Federer really was again at his best, giving no chance to opponent. In the third set, Murray was really clueless about the Federer's game. It really looked a easy win in the end. But it was not that easy for Federer. He was really in pressure to win this, since US open was the last major event of the year 2008 and Federer did not win any major tournament yet. Though, he managed to win two low profile tournaments.

One of quality Federer has is his cool and calm character on the court. He hardly shows any emotions. You really feel that he is giving respect to the opponent. Whatever the circumstances are, whether it's opening set of the match or he is serving on match points, he remains the same. After being almost invincible for more than 4 or 5 years, this kind of gesture is really great to see. This quality really makes him arguably all time great tennis player.

I am waiting for next season to start and see Federer to regain his No.1 spot.
