Tokyo station threat

Authorities are believed to have received a threat to commuters at Tokyo station that is to occur this evening July 29th at 17:30. The threat was posted on the Internet bulletin board 2channel and is unsubstantiated at this time. The Marunouchi police and building security are aware of the threat and have increased security as a precaution.




Please be careful while passing through Tokyo station and if possible, please avoid. Try to take another route.

Global to HCL

Finally the time has come to bid a goodbye to my first company Global. It was not easy decision for me at all to leave Global, since I have been a part of this wonderful organization for more than 3 years. I have learned lot of things at Global. Where else you will find your CEO talking to you one on one every week or where your project manager asks you to take it easy on project or a senior most person comes and asks you what you are learning nowadays. It really sounds unbelievable though but it's true. Global is a bunch of great people and extremely friendly people which really creates a healthy environment to work.

US Open Final 2008

Last night I watched US open final. It was at 2:30 AM in night and it finished around 4:30 AM. I must say it was worth watching till that time. The only reason why I wanted to watch the final is Roger Federer.

This guy really has something in him. In the year 2008, he has reached in three finals and one semi-final, but, still people writing him off. So I wanted to see how Federer performs in the final against the 6th seed Murray. It would have been a ideal final if Nadal had been there.

Federer really was again at his best, giving no chance to opponent. In the third set, Murray was really clueless about the Federer's game. It really looked a easy win in the end. But it was not that easy for Federer. He was really in pressure to win this, since US open was the last major event of the year 2008 and Federer did not win any major tournament yet. Though, he managed to win two low profile tournaments.

One of quality Federer has is his cool and calm character on the court. He hardly shows any emotions. You really feel that he is giving respect to the opponent. Whatever the circumstances are, whether it's opening set of the match or he is serving on match points, he remains the same. After being almost invincible for more than 4 or 5 years, this kind of gesture is really great to see. This quality really makes him arguably all time great tennis player.

I am waiting for next season to start and see Federer to regain his No.1 spot.

Reliance Big TV - New DTH

Everybody must have heard of Reliance Big TV, a recently launched DTH service. I got curios about it and did some searching on it. I read lot of reviews and it seems Big TV has got something in it. It uses MPEG4 technology (don't know what it means) whereas others, Tata Sky and Dish TV, use MPEG2. The initial cost of Big TV is a bit cheaper but not much. They have got a large list of channels, so you need to select the different packs available depending on your requirements.

And, somewhere it was mentioned that Big TV is in talk with Toshiba TV. They will bundle Toshiba LCD Tv and Big TV and it will be priced around Rs. 10000-12000.

Watch out for their customer care. I read lot of reviews regarding the delay in installation and inefficient customer care.

Still doing more research on it. Let's see how it goes.

Google Chrome - A new revolution?

So today or should say last night Google released its browser called Google Chrome. I downloaded it from here and installed on my machine. The look and feel of the browser is very good as it was expected from Google. However, I feel sometimes it tends to become slow. Though, it could be because of my system but anyhow this is the first version of the browser, so bugs are supposed to be there.

So my first day with new browser was pretty good. Just getting used to this. Waiting for the Linux version so can explore it more.

Will keep updated more on this till than bye..
